Two of us went for dinner on a Friday evening. We were seated immediately. The dining area (dining on one side and bar/lounge on the other) was open and inviting. Even with other diners it was easy to maintain a conversation without needing to raise voice volume.The service was incredibly attentive without being intrusive. Our server kept the water glasses full and even brought a drink refill without needing to be asked. The food came out promptly and was piping hot.I ordered the carne asada and it first appeared that the portion was skimpy. However, the meat was actually thicker cut than most versions of the dish. Even with the thicker cut, it was cooked perfectly (a little pink) and was tender. The flavor was savory and simple, but stunningly delicious. Usually side dishes, like beans and rice are not worth mentioning. However, the Mexican rice wasn't the standard "red-colored" rice. It had noticeable tomatoes, olives, and celery of a true Mexican rice dish. The beans were smooth but still had enough texture to stay on the chips and not slop off. Instead of the bland lettuce normally garnishing the plate, they included a Mexican cole slaw. It added a nice crunch and tangy flavor when eaten with the other sides and meat.The chicken enchiladas were saucy both inside and outside the tortilla helping avoid the "dry" shredded chicken that is so common.The prices are not cheap but for the service, portions, and flavors it was definitely worth it. We ended up paying $77 including tax and 20% tip.This restaurant is now on the top of my list for Mexican food in Richland and surrounding areas.
