We are very great full to have found Everstead K9 Academy they took great care of our Cane Corso. When she went to them she would pull on the leash and plainly not listen to us they have been able to train our Cane Corso and now I’m able to take her on a walk without her pulling and is able to just chill with me and my family. I am so grateful to Nirvana K9 for the training and knowledge that Sami has provided to my dog and I. After my dog’s board and train, I can calmly walk her past almost every dog, bike, and scooter we see without her reacting. I have been able to bring her to work full time, as well as busy places like Farmer’s Markets. Her anxiety at home has reduced, she calmly lays down and sleeps when alone, and she is so much more engaged with me throughout the day. Sami showed us how effective balanced training can be at promoting a calm state of mind in dogs, and at providing effective communication between dog and owner when used correctly and safely. The continual support through follow up lessons, and boarding mean so much to me as well, and I am equipped to keep up my dog’s training each day. Sami has changed the game for us! There’re 2 parts to this - her expertise at guiding our pooch to be the best puppy she can be, and our great experience with Sami who went above and beyond for us in terms of scheduling and guidance before/after our pup’s stay with her. Sami was communicative and helpful from the very start (even before any deposit was ever taken) and was even able to accommodate a very last minute drop off for us. During the entire stays Sami provided substantial updates and took such great care of our pup (play, treats, bath, nails, etc), all that on top of all the training she was getting done. When our pup came home, it was clear that she had a great time with Sami and had some really hard skills under her belt! Overall, very impressed and I can’t say enough how life changing the training has been. We are a family with 3 small kids and having a dependably trained big puppy meant that we could safely and confidently take our entire crew on adventures that we would not have been able to do before without considerable stress. Sammi has taught me so freaking much about dog training. We got our dog back in July and he ended up having a degenerative back issue that makes him super clumsy in his back legs. There’s nothing we can do for him besides pain meds the vet told us, but I heard you could help build rear end awareness in dogs so I researched some different trainers since we didn’t know where to start. We booked Sammi for private lessons and she showed us to ropes with using luring and a bowl then fading it with leash pressure. We were able to build up his muscles in his rear end and there has been so much improvement! We also did basic obedience with him, and Sammi really taught us that the foundation of training really starts with the relationship you and your dog have. She taught us how to incorporate play with training and to always make it super fun! Our dog has been super responsive with his training and everything we do has been positively reinforced and by using pressure to communicate what I want him to do. We took him to alderwood mall and he now ignores people and other dogs even if they are barking and snapping at him! Our dog has some reactivity issues due to poor confidence that he has had from puppyhood. Sami has given us the tools to have our dog live a fulfilled life. Because of his training, he is able to go camping, hiking, run around off leash, and hang out at breweries. I get lots of compliments on how well behaved my dog is. Even though I know that he has reactive tendencies, people don’t even notice them because we have the tools to manage him and his environment. I also love that after our training program we have the option of using Sami to board our dog in the future. She knows how to set dogs up for success to keep them safe, comfortable, and fulfilled.
