I would recommend Brent to anyone who is questioning their hearing. He was very thorough in explaining everything and the hearing test was pretty fun. Brent was not pushy to sell anything at all. He just gave me the results of the test and told me some of my options which even included options that would not have made him any money. Very nice to see that kind of service this day and age! So basically, you have nothing to lose by going to see him and everything to gain whether you’re sure you need hearing aids or not.

I've checked out several audiologists in the Asheville area, and I strongly recommend Dr. Brent Steele, the "Hearing Guy" on Hendersonville Road. It's refreshing to talk to someone this open and honest about hearing loss and the various devices. He clarified several issues and taught me a great deal. For once, I found an audiologist that didn't make me feel like I was bargaining with a car sales person. I don't know about you, but I need an intelligent audiologist I can trust.

Bryce, MY new hearing guy, adjusted a set of phonak hearing aids that had been inconsistent in their ability to help my hearing problem. I had been to two other offices in town, one said get new ones and the second had just about the same answer. Bryce adjusted the tips and explained more clearly some operational information. The Hearing Guy, Dr. Brent Steele throughly ask questions pertinent to my 72 old years. Dr. Brent explained how hearing degrades after years of use or abuse. Next came the audio test. The results surprised me a bit in that In not ready for hearing aid yet, yea! That was the good news. Guess he could have sold me some but that’s not how he grows his practice.The better news was that I discovered a Dr. of audiology that I can depend on in the future.Now isn’t that refreshing?

I am very pleased with the hearing aids and care from Dr. Steele and his staff. My elderly uncle's Costco hearing aids were failing so it was decided he was better served with someone local. Dr. Steele offered a variety of options and my uncle is extremely pleased with his choice. The follow up care to totally customize far exceeded the experience at Costco. The entire staff is kind and respectful with great patience! The cost of the hearing aids includes as much follow up care as is needed. We couldn't have made a better choice.

The one thing I appreciate about Bret is that he doesn’t rush through a consultation. I went here for ear wax removal. I had this done once before at an ENT and it was quite painful so I was a bit uneasy. Dr. Steele was really pleasant, explained each part of the process before and as he was doing it and checked on how I was feeling at each step. It was clear he really cares about his patients well being. I never experienced pain. He did a great job, was kind and efficient from start to finish, and at a very fair price. I'd give my highest recommendation to anyone needing this service.

I would not recommend using this facility. While they were nice on the phone once I made an appointment, it went downhill quickly. I got to their office and they told me to wait in a back room that was essentially a dirty utility closet with an exam chair in it. Said the technician would be back soon. After waiting for 25 minutes I went and asked and was told that they were on their way but close. I waited another 20 minutes and then had to leave because I have a life and other things to do. They were pretty rude when I told them that I wasn’t waiting any longer and never heard back from them again. About as unprofessional as it gets.

This was my first experience with hearing aids. Dr. Steele explained everything in language I could understand and was very knowledgeable. Very personable, patient and always there to help with all my needs/issues. His wife Leslie and staff member Madison made me feel comfortable and were very friendly. This guy is not a certified audiologist. He didn’t even give me a hearing test. My new audiologist said my hearing aids were so far off my prescription, she was surprised I could hear anything at all. He is an MD. Unqualified in my experience.
