Some days it would have been far easier to walk away.In the long stretch of building and launching our furniture company Twisted Eye, there were moments when the idea of a steady 9-5 with weekends off felt very tempting.What’s kept us going? Encouragement and support, from friends, fellow makers, and even total strangers.One moment that really stayed with us came thanks to Carmen at @fritz_fryer_lighting in Ross-on-Wye. On an “end of her tether” kind of day, Sharon Bennett (our founder and maker) found herself in their showroom, looking for a spark of inspiration for our Vibrant Rustic collection shoot.She left with much more than, the two beautiful handmade Hereford pendant shades. She also left with a meaningful conversation, encouragement, and a renewed energy. It says a lot about a company when the people behind it are genuinely passionate about what they do and show respect and kindness to an utter scruff bag (Sharon wasn't looking her best after a day at the workshop😂)The shades made it into our first shoot (set in Sharon and husband Oli’s ongoing Victorian cottage renovation) and now hang in pride of place in their dining room. Maybe not the grandest setting for such elegant fittings, but they’re loved and will no doubt feature in another shoot soon.So this is a heartfelt thank you to Carmen and the team at Fritz Fryer. You might not realise how much your kindness meant that day, but it meant a lot to us and genuinely gave us a boost when we most needed it.

I inherited a beautiful lamp from my grandmother. Challenge: the lamp - which dates back to at least 1950s - was not compatible with the UK sockets and was also rewired badly in the past. Solution: I sent it to Fritz Fryer who'd given me a quote for the rewiring of the lamp. Experience: They responded promptly to all my emails and really took time to consider my needs - I was very fretful about the lamp. They advised which cable would be best. They also extended the cable for me as the one I initially ordered turned out to be too short for my needs. The lamp was very well packed and they really took care with everything. Would use them again without any hesitation.

We couldn't be happier with our chandelier - it is absolutely what we wanted and the company were wonderful to deal with - straightforward, honest, design-oriented and also customer-oriented. I can't recommend this company highly enough. We have just built a house and have had varying experiences with some of the companies delivering various products and services, but Fritz Fryer were right there at the top as one of the very best to deal with, and at a competitive price too. My cleaner accidentally smashed one of the pendants and the help that the team gave me to get a new shade that matched the shape of the others was incredible. Everyone should know Fritz Fryer - and by that I mean they have such strong expertise, customer service and variety of products that there really is something for everyone, no matter what the budget. We were able to furnish several rooms of our house with their own beautiful products, made in the UK in their own west country manufacturing location, as well as acquiring some very well sourced, quality antique lights and chandeliers. It all began with a very friendy welcome from Iasmin in their central London, Clerkenwell location, we never looked back. Highly recommended!
