We searched far and wide for a trainer to help us teach our 4 year old maltipoo some boundaries and manners. I rescued my mastiff mix, Artichoke ("Artie"), a year ago. Although he's always been a great dog, Artie lacked confidence and was very shy but reactive around other dogs. I just completed the 4 week training program for my dog Merlot and I am so thankful I did it. I have a 3 year old mini bernedoodle who has a crazy amount of energy. When she was 8 months I sent her away to a two week training program where they trained her using a vibration collar. While it helped some initially, she wouldn't behave as well without it on and I didn't feel like I had the tools to keep up training. I wish I had found Bruce earlier because this was a much better method for both me and my dog. I now have the tools to continue to reinforce and train her. She is super happy and I am able to start taking her more places. She was always horrible on the leash yanking around trying to get pets from every single human. She is not perfect after 4 weeks, but we have made huge improvements and I just have to keep up the practice now. I also feel like we have an even better bond because everything we do now is positive reinforcement verse me always telling my dog no. Less

Bruce came into our lives because our baby dog Luci had no manners and was having trouble reading our older dog's body language cues, which was leading to fights in our home and them having to be separated quite often. After going through Bruce's program , which never ends we still have to practice daily and continue the work that he helped us start, our dogs are no longer fighting and Luci has learned lots of manners. The body language reading issues that he was having I can now step in and redirect him when I see that things are about to escalate. The biggest learning curve has been for dad to learn to be more free with praise and treats, it's made a world of difference. We found the weekly game plan really helpful in instilling good habits and enforcing eye contact. Zeus is reactive to other dogs, but Bruce worked with us to be able to have more frequent and close encounters. Zeus was put to the test on many park trips. After rescuing a difficult dog we were on the hunt for a dog trainer. We happened upon Groovy Dog and we’re so glad we did! Our dog was very territorial of us and our home and outdoor space. He got a long with dogs in the dog park but not really outside of there. He would growl and bark and pull. We were hopeful with some good training he would change. And change by gosh he did.
