We hired Tom for a home inspection as he was recommended by our realtor, as well as by a friend and a family member.  We were fortunate he had availability the same week we called. Tom was an absolute pleasure to work with throughout our entire home buying experience.  He and his business partner Daniel attended the site and did a thorough assessment.  Next, he walked through the house with us to point out areas of vulnerability or concern.  We never felt rushed.  It was clear he was experienced and knowledgeable and looking out for our best interests.  We appreciate how personable Tom and Daniel were and found them to be trustworthy and professional.  We received Tom's detailed report the very next day! All 92 detailed pages with pictures and references to code compliance.  He even kindly offered to return another day to assess areas he couldn't gain access to the day of our appointment.  He sent an updated report in a timely fashion. The business name really is synonymous with Tom... he is a True Star in this industry!

Best Home inspector I Have Had The Pleasure To Work With I've had 4 houses inspected, a townhouse, 1 house (first two in Metro Vancouver) another house on flat land and recently a house on a sloped hill (last two in Sechelt). This recent inspection was conducted by Truestar Home Inspection. No one is as thorough, professional, intelligent, compassionate and detailed as Tom Pape of Truestar Home Inspection Services. He treats the house he is inspecting like he would his own home, he looks out for his client like he would, family or dear friends. He is thorough and looks past the aesthetics to assess if the house will hold up structurally - foundation-wise. He noticed poor caulking work, water pooling, unlabeled electrical fuse box, tiniest of gaps that would allow wasps or other insects in, gap between garage door and floor, roof vent flashing and so many more in a new build house. When I contacted him - I was expecting the same kind of inspection from the past - his report is top notch and is labeled as to Structure, Plumbing, Foundation, Flooring etc. The resulting recommendations couldn't be more assuring than what I received. I wish I had known of him and his excellent service before but this (I know) would not be the last house I will have inspected and because of that - it will only be Truestar for peace of mind from here onwards. Truestar would be the only one I would recommend for all home inspection anywhere in the Sunshine Coast and neighbouring towns. I wish he could come to Vancouver - because his skill is incomparable.

Tom did our post purchase home inspection this week and did an amazing job. He was not only super professional and experienced but very friendly which we really appreciated. He offered lots of tips for our home projects and walked me through what he saw with our home inspection once it was complete. The next morning he emailed over a very large and detailed house binder for us to print or access online that details everything about the house and included photos of everything on! I would definitely recommend him for anyone needing a good job done:)
