These guys did a great job on my 1888 house basement. There is a hard-to-access crawlspace where they foamed the walls and nooks and crannies. In the stand-up part of the basement they foamed the walls from the floor up to the ceiling. While the lower part of the walls are already below ground and the insulation won't do much, the foam (being quite hard) should serve to hold the stone foundation in place a bit, as some of the mortar had deteriorated over the years. I can't say yet how much warmer the house will be as we haven't hit winter yet, but especially the rooms above the crawlspace should benefit from having all the leaks sealed up under them. The installers were very neat and tidy and laid down plastic all over so as to catch any of the overspray. Visually the basement is a big improvement - hopefully it will hold up over time and give the house another 130 years! Less

We approached our project with the goal of increasing the comfort of the 2nd floor of our colonial home. We had plenty of insulation but no air sealing and the temperatures between first and second floor on the hottest day was around 11 degrees. We had to install a window AC unit when we first moved in just to be able to sleep at night. We interviewed 4 closed cell spray foam contractors. After meeting with Shaun Grimes, we knew we wanted to partner with Cincinnati Retrofoam. He spent countless hours with us going back and forth about the best way to approach a solution at the right price point. As part of the project we identified issues in the attic/roof/venting that we addressed as part of this job. Regarding promptness, cleanliness, quality of work, communication we would give an A +. I'm a results oriented guy and didn't have access to the previous homeowners utility bills so I can't evaluate based on that. What I can say is that when the AC was on, we were still at a 5 or so degree difference between the floors. After using thermal imaging we realized the second floor ceiling was now Fort Knox after they applied 3 inches of spray foam. We then addressed the additional thermal gain from our South facing windows with solar screens. Since we did that, the max difference was about 2 degrees between first floor and second with AC. With heating, the second floor is the exact same temp as the first floor. Our comfort has increased dramatically and we've retired the window AC unit. I'm sure we are saving a lot of money on our gas and electric as well but unfortunately we don't have the data to back that up. We can confidently say that from interviewing to contractor selection to drafting a solution and all the way through to post job we've been 100 percent satisfied with Shaun and everyone from Cincinnati Retrofoam.
