Arthur the owner is a sweet young man and has a great crew! I had them paint the exterior of my home. Clean and beautifully done! Then another crew painted my kitchen cabinets and stair railings. I should start off by saying I’m awfully hard to please when it comes to professionals working on my home; I don’t like folks actually damaging my home and decreasing its value when I’m trying to improve it. Yet, ironically, this is usually what my experience has been with those I pay to work on my home. But fortunately, nothing like that was my experience with Lumos. I wish I could give them 6 stars. First of all, as painters, they are amazingly skilled and did exceedingly fine work. They spent a lot of time preparing for the actual painting, washing surfaces carefully, taking out old caulking, putting new caulking in very skillfully, patching surfaces where needed, and conscientiously covering up and masking surfaces not to be painted. This prep work is where they really shined. They were masters at masking in an extremely detailed manner. I actually have never seen any painters so fastidious about these pre-steps, and I think it made all the difference. The result was perfection. There was NO paint where it shouldn’t be and there were crisp straight lines and edges where it should stop. Then, since they sprayed the paint on, instead of brushing it, the coating was perfectly even and consistent, with no drips, runs, foreign stuff, etc. It really turned out better than I thought it would ever be. I also would like to say that the team communicated well with me along the way asking me about lots of small details and how I wanted things. That also made such a big difference! Why don’t all vendors do this? I suppose most don’t because they don’t want to be troubled with your picky comments, they just want to get your job done and get started on the next one. OK, I understand that from a short-term business perspective, but who is paying for the work, anyway, right? Look, the Lumos team had a different attitude, and it really showed. They were much more interested in making sure that I got what I thought was important, and believing, that in the long run, that is what would be best for their business. I’m writing this review so that businesses that take this approach get noticed, used, and rewarded for it! And here’s one last thing that I noticed. The Lumos team were so respectful of my environment. For example, they wore earbuds instead of playing their music out loud. Now, I personally don’t care about this--but my neighbors probably would have. Since the Lumos team were considerate enough to do their work quietly without disturbing the neighborhood, my neighbors didn’t have to be annoyed by my activities. And another way they demonstrated respect was that they actually cleaned up after themselves very carefully! When they left, everything in my yard was just as clean and orderly as when they came. They really were a team of pleasant, conscientious, and HIGHLY skilled fellows. Their parents and families should be proud of them! Less

Lumos Painting painted our front iron railing and our back deck railing. The removed all of the rust, sanded it smooth and put two coats of primer sanding between each coat. Then four coats of high quality urethane acrylic. The railings look amazing! We had great contact from Arthur with follow-up and inspection of the work. We really appreciate the great job and attention to detail. We highly recommend them. Less
