We had several windows replaced a couple of weeks ago and the work done was excellent. When I connected with the sales guy (Justin) I tried to be really clear about what we wanted, and he seemed to get it. The work crew did exactly what they were supposed to do, and more. These guys actually left our place cleaner than when they got here and were respectful of us, the house, furniture, etc, at all times.I've had windows done several times and I know how they're supposed to be done correctly. These guys took the windows out and cut back the siding to exactly where it needed to be. Because I requested it they showed me the condition of the underlying framing and were willing to do any work needed. Fortunately we didn't really have any rot or anything, so all went well. There was zero trying to upsell or anything through the whole process, which was really nice.They aren't the least expensive. Be aware of that. Get other quotes as well, it's always a good idea. However, when you get a quote make sure to ask if they will remove the entire frame down to studs (which is the correct way) or merely cut through the metal/vinyl of the existing frame and pop in new windows. Doing that can very easily lead to drafts as, especially if you have leaking frames, an insert may not fix the underlying issues. Plus companies that do that also tend not to seal the frame properly.Long Life attached the new windows directly to studs, foam-sealed all areas where any drafts might get through and finished to a point that you can't even tell (inside or out) that these weren't the original windows. Our interior sills were properly sealed and they even cleaned them (which granted makes the caulk stick properly, but you'd be surprised how often that isn't done properly).I had other quotes and every quote I had that was less expensive either were going to use inserts because it seems people don't usually ask, so the price went up when I wanted full frame removal, or they didn't have any reference jobs/pictures, or if they did it was crappy workmanship, or in some cases both. Actually some (much) more expensive companies had some of these issues as well. Bottom line on that, ASK questions.Long Life had no problem answering every question I came up with (which I'm sure was annoying) and they were on site when they said they'd be (both quote and install). Overall we're really happy with what we got.Once we settled on these guys we had 4 bedrooms done to see how they were before shelling out to get the rest done. As the guys were finishing it also gave me the opportunity to ask about some tricky windows we need to have done and the lead guy (Stewart?) was very open about what could be done and what could be touchy, but he was also very confident they could do it and do a good job.I have already recommended them to a couple of other people and we will be hiring them in the not too distant future to do some more replacements.So thanks Justin et al, our drafts are gone, condensation is gone and my daughter isn't freaking out about bugs sneaking through her screen any more! We recently replaced all 21 windows and a sliding door in our 35-year-old house. This is important as with kids around, you can't have dangerous items. Else they'll ask for a safe area if you like.They also helped in extra things.1) My side panel next to the window was loose and they re-fastened it2) All the blinds were nicely re-installed post installation3) Extra effort to seal the door was taken as history on the house had a lot of water flowing around.4) They also gave options when the door needed to be re-positioned. OVER ONE YEAR LATER Oct 2023I felt the need to add to this review, as here we are one year later and we are even more pleased with the investment we made with Long Life. The upgrade of the 10 windows plus our new sliding door has made a significant difference in reducing our gas usage and heating bill. The change in how well our house now retains heat is night and day different than before with our old windows. And cosmetically, the large what can only be described as a picture window in our sunroom affords us a beautiful view of the tree in our back yard. We have been very happy with our purchase from Long Life! The windows themselves are very nice, with the vinyl frame being quite slim to allow the largest amount of glass possible. They operate very smoothly and don’t have narrow tracks to trap dirt. They have also made our home considerably cooler than it was, which has been a big relief! We had the windows replaced on our home and chose Long Life as they used quality windows and took the time to remove and reinstall siding during installation instead of using the giant flanges other companies were quoting. The installation went great with the two person crew being respectful of the not only the garden they worked around but the fact that people were working from home. The quality of the install is great and we love the new look. They even caught and corrected some poor construction techniques from the original build! The only suggestion I could make is for the crews to check out the gutters below where they're working and clean out any fallen nails, staples and bits of debris like homewrap or insulation that may have bounced down. There wasn't much, but I wouldn't want it getting washed into the downspouts. A quick inspection on my part and drag with a rare earth magnet snagged them all. Two high upper floor bedroom windows were replaced to eliminate traffic noise. From the proffessional very detailed quotation to installation completion I highly recommend Long Life Windows and Doors.Due to supply chain issues there was quite a long wait for the job to be completed, however, we were warned this would happen and LL kept us appraised at all times as to the progress. the windows were in their possession on a Monday afternoon and installation began on Tuesday morning. A great team if four installers arrived on time, a difficult set up with scaffolding in horrible weather of wind and rain did nor faze them. Amazingly fast, efficient, clean with 90% of the job completed on the first day and then a "detailing" finish up on the next day of about 4 hours.It's a pleasure dealing with a well established local company with incredible service standards and when I called their office a human answers the 'phone …say no more! We just got all 10 windows of our townhouse replaced by Long Life Windows. The team we had -- Curtis, Tim and two Peters were great. They were efficient, professional and detailed. I am impressed with Long Life.I contacted Vinyltek Windows quite a while ago, as I was familiar with their product & company and needed some replacement patio doors, a French door, and perhaps a window @ my house. They directed me to Long Life, with whom they have an arrangement. I gave Long Life some measurements for a rough quote, and heard back quickly enough with some pricing. I put the job aside for a bit; I was in no rush. They did follow up with me, and I knew I had to do the job eventually, so we went about getting a sales fellow, Justin, to come over. We discussed the job, I indicated what I wanted, and over the next few weeks we finalized. I did check some competition, went with Long Life. Pricing was not the deciding factor as the bid was certainly not the cheapest; I wanted good windows done well and felt most comfortable with Long Life.Deposit paid, they arrange a 2nd visit with a technician (Josh) this time, who arranges an appointment at a good time, and confirms all measurements and the job. I felt confident.I knew there was a long lead time to get them done, was warned in advance, and with Covid, production delays, etc. the delays were longer still, but the office kept me apprised with emails and expected ready dates. It was OK, these were replacement windows, I could deal with the situation. We all know the last couple of years have been chaotic with Covid, supply chain issues, etc. so I was neither concerned nor surprised.Install day - I had a 2 day job, they called me Monday, would install Wednesday & Thursday. I work, would not be at the house, but that was all good. My daughter let them in the first day, 7 people she told me. My son let them in the second day, and by the time he answered the door they were already setting up scaffolding. This is a well run outfit.The job was completed yesterday; I am very happy with the finished product, the evident quality in both the product and the installation, and feel confident going forward. This was also invoice day; after giving the deposit months ago money was never again mentioned, but I of course knew payment would be due. I like to pay my bills quickly and was wondering how the final invoice would be presented. I get an email first thing this morning, maintenance info, post install info, and of course the invoice. I took care of payment online within 10 minutes, soon thereafter getting a receipt and warranty info.I give Long Life two enthusiastic thumbs up, dating myself a bit with an old movie review adage. I'm very lazy. I hate doing things twice so I'm very willing to pay for quality and that is exactly what we got working with Long Life Windows. We had a large window installation completed in September and I've waited until winter to provide this review to see the difference the new windows made compared to the ancient 1980s aluminum windows they replaced. The drafts have been completely eliminated (at one point my wife suggested we install a wind farm in the living room!) and it's costing less to heat our house (we've been here for 36 years so we have a lot of history.)This was a complex, challenging project -- I was told that there was not a window product offered by Long Life that wasn't used in our home. The product is excellent, and I can't say enough about the quality and professionalism of the installers -- Josh and his team were just amazing. The attention to detail was obsessive and I'm fussy as hell! Long Life use their own staff, not contractors, and many have been with the company for more than 10 years. This was very important to me because the company must treat their staff well to retain them as long as they do, particularly in this industry. This business is family owned and everything is manufactured locally. Unfortunately this is increasingly rare -- It is getting harder and harder to find locally made products so it was a great comfort to be able to support the community we live and work in.I'm tough, with very high standards, and I struggle to find any criticism I can provide about the product, the installation, and the service delivered by Long Life Windows for this project. It's just frustrating that so few businesses today meet these same high standards. Less

We were notified about a week ago that our new windows were in, and this past Friday and today were our install days. One word that sums up the purchase and install is “amazing!” The install crew were extremely careful and clean inside the house, very polite, and efficient is an understatement. 16 windows and a patio sliding door all done in 2 days!! We recently had Long Life change all the windows and outside doors in our house and we are very happy. The experience was great right from the beginning when their estimator came into our home to take all the measurements. On install day, their team showed up on time and ready to go. The foreman had a deep understanding and knowledge about windows and installations and had the crew working quickly and efficiently for the few days while doing the install. They did everything correctly and cleaned up and took all their garbage on the way out, leaving us with the nice new windows and no mess. We got quotes from a few different companies before selecting Long Life - what did it for us is they are a local Vancouver family company and they have all their own staff for installs and no random contractors and we knew the quality was going to be high. 10/10 would recommend if you are looking for quality windows, doors and installation for your home.
