We have used this company for a kitchen remodel and bathroom remodel back in 2019. For both jobs the company was very organized in their plans, punctual and always professional on the job. My husband and I were more than pleased with the final products. Recently we had an issue with our shower door and thought we would have to purchase a new one. Mike the owner told us not to worry and he would look into a new shower door that was probably under warranty. Turns out it was and we just had it installed. Good morning all!After 3-5 estimates, and over 10 months of saving and planning, our unfinished basement is complete.We couldnt be happier with the way Selective Remodeling took our vision, and brought it to life. They were honest, upfront about pricing and very transparent. Their communication, during the entire 9-10weeks of work in our house, was very thorough. Naturally, with material and deliveries, some things are out of their control in regards to timeline, and yet they STILL made their timeline of completion, as mentioned in our contract.But that wasnt the most important aspect of their work. It was their daily logs of their progress. It was their planning, and literally a book, of every step/phase of our job.You may initially think Selective Remodeling is going to be over priced, when you see the quality of their work, their showroom, and their technology they use to build your vision. I would say that you will pay for what you get, and good work/talents do not come cheap. Selective provided a quote that was high to us up front, but that was also the number we ended up spending (with a 5% over budget). There was little surprise or big jump in our expectation because they did not use a low number to hook you and slowly increase your project cost by change order.To give background, our project scope included: entire first floor renovation (structural work with 1 flush & 1 drop beam), new kitchen, new plumbing, electrical, kitchen vent duct), replace a window with a door and new floors for both 1st & 2nd floors. Selective scoped the work and advised 1.5 month completion and completed in this timeframe. Everyone we talked to was really surprised that a contractor could come in on budget & time as the norm in construction is constant delay/ budget creep.The other advantage we found with Selective was that we could not be on site to verify the work done each day. Our house was in LI and we stayed in NYC during the week for work. Selective uses a software called BuilderTrend which allows you to see schedule for the duration of the project (when each phase of the project was happening like framing, dry wall, cabinet install, etc) as well as provides detailed photos of the work done on any given day. We verified the work when we visited during the weekend but more often than not, we relied on the photos to ask question.The customer service provided by Samantha (our rep) was exceptional. We were 1st time home owner & this was our 1st reno. We basically had very little knowledge of construction and one of our worries was that any contractor could say anything and we wouldn't know right or wrong. But we found that Selective was very honest. We never felt that we were left hanging and wondering the fate of the project. All deadlines were clear, and issues were addressed promptly. When Selective made mistake, they addressed without any difficulty. Ex: their demo crew threw away our closet doors by mistake and they offered a fair solution: either replace with the same door or credit adjustment. Electrician made a mistake and they offered refund on the additional cost we incurred. We were treated fairly & honestly and I really appreciate this fact.I was able to talk to all of the subcontractors (framing, dry wall, cabinet install, plumber, electricians) and they were all very good. For example, the cabinet installer had never worked with Ikea kitchen cabinet and he researched this system prior to our installation. He started the installation and noticed that he needed to drop some height in order to use the moulding. And he removed the cabinet that he already installed and redid them the correct way. These folks were very attentive to detail that I would not hesitate recommending them to any friends & family in the future.Another thing that sold us to go the general contractor route instead of finding each trade ourselves is the fact that things always change during the construction and you have one party to always go to for fixing instead of reaching out to multiple people. When we needed to move the electrical outlet after cabinet installation, or when we moved the location of the vent duct, there was mudding to be done. Selective was always there to ensure the quality of the final project. In my past experience, some trades such as electrican can cut out holes in dry wall for their work, but they will not patch the wall. So if you are not handy/capable of patching dry wall, you will need to hire another contractor to do that work. With Selective, the final product delivered to you on the last day is a ready to move in house. No mudding, spot, damage that needed to be fixed. To me, that is a huge plus as it reduced the amount of work I need to do, and just focus on the decoration of the house. Less

After Selective Sculptures installed my kitchen backsplash last year, I returned to them to renovate my master bathroom. I walked in with my unique vision and Bryan patiently brought it to fruition. We met and texted or talked on the phone many times to discuss, make decisions and answer my all questions. Once that was done and it was time to start the construction, Covid was increasing and I was nervous. Bryan assured me that everyone knew what to do and it would be safe. And it was! Kitchen Renovation (Summer 2019)Outstanding experience with Mike and his staff. The attention to detail they paid, their professionalism, and the dedication to working on our project as if it were their own homes was beyond expectations. I have had the opportunity to work with Selective Sculptures on two separate efforts over the past two years. The first was for one of my kids' house, where they converted the first floor to an open floor plan and completely redesigned the kitchen. Given the outstanding job they did there, I selected them for my home, which was a significantly larger job. We decided to also convert the first floor to an open floor plan as well as expanding the house by extending out the entire back (45 feet across) of the house by 6 feet. The project entailed architectural drawings, new foundation with helix pilings (required by code in this part of the flood plain), 46-foot steel girder, redesign and installation of a new state of the art heating system including the installation of over 1000 Sq ft of radiant heat, 6-foot gas fireplace, entertainment center, laundry room, and gourmet kitchen. The design was superb, the tile work remarkable, and the custom molding genuinely outstanding. The level of effort was terrific as they integrated all the trades, sub-contractors, and building permitting requirements into a smooth construction effort. Their dedication resulted in a beautifully renovated and expanded first floor for our home. Given the magnitude of the work effort and the duration, it was surprising that it also came in close to budget. The only exception to the original budget was a few minor change orders done at our request. I used to do carpentry for 11 years, and my father has been doing it for well over 40 so going into this I was nervous to have someone else do work for me. I don't trust contractors at all, but everyone at Selective completely changed my mind and put it to ease. Not only did they do high quality work every step of the way, but they also kept in constant contact with me and always listened to everything I had to say right down to even the plumber and electricians. My wife and I never once had a problem with them at all, and anytime there was any hiccup what so ever, they took care of it no questions asked, no argument, nothing. They wanted to make sure we left happy and satisfied and we certainly did. They did everything in a timely manner as well and were basically always at the house every day, which was awesome. Never did I feel like second fiddle to another job of theirs. The cabinet installation was excellent, and they even had to install a few things that were new to them and they did it perfectly. I kept inspecting each thing they did and they continued to impress me. Their tile guy is amazing and does ridiculously impressive work. We had almost our entire downstairs floor all tiled with wood planking tile, when he was done I took my level to every spot of the floor I could think of and it was dead level all around, I was completely surprised and it looks amazing. I just hosted Thanksgiving and everyone was so impressed by our new kitchen and couldn't stop talking about it. My Fiancé and I were in need of a major Kitchen remodel, that being said I had very bad experience when I had my basement redone, the contractor never finished the job and within less than a year what was done started to fall apart. What made that experience even worse it was a friend who was a contractor. Ok now the happy part comes, I went on home advisor to see what I could learn. I contacted Selective Sculptures they had great reviews and testimonials. First Dominic came to my home to see what needed to be done, we discussed our budget and how long it would take to complete. The next step we met at the design studio (mind blown he met me on a Sunday) his ideas were way better than mine we showed him our taste in colors and textures and he pulled off what I can only describe as amazing. Step 2 Dominic came back to the house with Anthony the GM and an entire crew I was speechless the lead plumber, carpenter and electrician went through every aspect with us it was quite an experience to say the least all this for only an estimate. I pulled the trigger if they were scamming me they deserved to get paid they were that impressive. Step 3 Dominic came back with his design plans again I was speechless he came up this a floor plan I one didn't think of or 2 thought possible. I agreed on the spot and was told work would start in 2 weeks and be done in 5-6 weeks. Well half way through what else does one do I was so happy I added additional work tear down the drop down ceiling in living room and do all the hard woods I had no idea I even had (bonus). I would speak to Anthony almost on a daily basis ( I'm sure he didn't love that ) but he was constantly making sure I was happy with progress and had answers for my questions never a let me check on that and not get back to me, in fact twice after I had a question within a few hours he would be calling me from my home so he knew exactly what I was talking about. Step 4 there's always a step 4 the basement's unfinished bathroom again above and beyond they gutted it out and did a total redo. I get a call from Anthony nearing the end as we never discussed color vanity or sink, he says do you trust me I said yes I do and that was the last we spoke of it until its completion he took a nightmare and made it a dream. Our house is now our home I couldn't in my wildest dreams be happier more satisfied or even fulfilled with how all the work was done the professionalism from the entire crew. I am only saddened by one thing and that's the feeling I lost 2 friends in Anthony and Dominic and that's a testimony to them and their desire to customer satisfaction. I felt a connection with Selective Sculptures and I felt they would do a good job and keep our financial concerns in mind. My husband and I decided to commit and left a $3,000 deposit to book a date in July 2016. I left with samples in hand and a happy 5 year old. I did not take the quartz home. A day later I texted Dominick and said I did want the quartz and if I could pick it up. He texted back and said he would drop it by my house. I was amazed that he would come to my house!With me, it’s not just about the job, it’s about how these guys made me feel. I feel important to them, respected and a priority. They make sure my job is up to code. And most importantly, they clean up before they leave, inside and outside. I can’t tell you how important that is with a child and a cat. I don’t have to worry about him getting into the tools or garbage. I also trust that they will do what it takes to keep me satisfied as a customer. They listen to my concerns/comments as you can see each day whether at my home or over text (my preferred method of communication). They came up with a timeline that was loose so we could tweak plans when necessary and so I could plan my life around the renovations.
