My son absolutely loves training here and has been doing so for the last 3 years. The gym is clean and spacious, but more importantly it's friendly and welcoming all round (instructors and students). Jon's nature puts the kids at ease and they feel right at home after their first class – even those who are more introverted. Jon's passion for BJJ shows and his instruction is truly first class. If you're looking to introduce your kid to the sport of BJJ, this is without question the club for you!

I dropped in for a trial and the coaches were fantastic and the members were great to roll with. I love the idea of making the classes live and realistic to competition style. Super easy to sign up with showers and clean gym.

Guildford jiu jitsu was the best place I came to train, the coaching and the environment of the club are absolutely brilliant and I have not just learnt so much but left with a great mood after each session, would recommend always if you want to learn jiu jitsu!

Fantastic club and coaches! I started in January, and 10 months in, I’m loving it. The atmosphere is really friendly and welcoming. There’s a broad range of ages, sizes and experience, meaning you get plenty of variety in your rolls, and as a shift worker, having lessons every day, throughout the day, makes a huge difference, as I cannot commit to fixed days and times.I love the “gamified” approach, focusing on fundamentals and principles against resisting partners, rather than endless drilling of techniques, and you leave every session feeling you’ve learned something new - sometimes because you did something right, frequently in my case, because you got something wrong! 🤣But it becomes addictive - even at 50 🫣, I can’t recommend it enough.

I moved to this gym from another local gym, because I saw they had a really big women's team. However, the progress I've seen in my skills since has been astronomical. I love Jon's teaching methods, you really get to put into practice what you've learned, in a way that is really good for neurodivergent folks like myself. The whole gym has been really welcoming, but the women's team itself is amazing, and I'm always learning something from these women when we roll.

Having moved from a different club, I have to say this has been an eye opener as to how fun, inspiring and engaging training can be! Having only been a part of this team for a short while, everyone has been very welcoming. The women’s team is very uplifting and heartfelt. It’s a privilege to train with likeminded people who all have a keen interest to grapple. It has bought back the love for jiu jitsu again for me and the coaching has been incredible from both the mixed classes and the women’s team! Excellent BJJ club following an ecological approach to training. Venue has a lovely sprung floor and there is a wide range of friendly team members spanning a large range of ages to learn and train with.

Everyone is extremely welcoming and kind, Jon is an amazing teacher who creates an environment where there are no stupid questions, learning is fun and you can carry it into sparring,no one wants to injure, only to learn and help.no hierarchy or traditional etiquette/rules other than being respectful to each other and shaking hands at the endThe room is always clean and sanitised,It’s an amazing sport and the perfect place to learn it.
