I had lived with pain and numbness for 10+ years and was meeting with a neurosurgeon with plans to surgically repair my spinal cord compression when Dr Miles and Olivera were recommended for me.I didn’t know I was out of alignment and had been since a childhood car accident and that the misalignment was the cause of the cord compression and constant pinched nerve. With their help I am able to live without constant pain and functional deficits. I thank God they are always there when life happens and I need realignment.

I've been under their care for 2+ years now and it has been a life altering experience. For at least 20 years, I had leaned to the left. I had a stance where my right foot would point outwards while simply standing or if I didn't position myself that way, my right leg would be bent forward, to mask the fact that I had a leg length discrepancy. I never once thought "ya know this could be something a chiropractor could fix". Instead, I chased my symptoms like foot, hip, or back pain.Finally, I was referred to Healthy Living by a local muscle therapist after not achieving everything I was hoping to with them. There is only so much you can do if your posture isn't aligned properly. Every team member here is first class and should be recognized as such. They go above and beyond what I've experienced in other doctor's offices, ensuring that the journey you're about to go on is something you can achieve.Dr Miles understands what it takes to run a facility that is welcoming and comfortable to patients. Upper cervical chiropractic care is not for everyone, and I have to constantly remind friends and family that no, "they don't crack my back every week" because that's not the answer. To me, it's a longer yet more fulfilling journey. In the past 2 years I've experienced everything from realizing just how crooked I was (my car seat kept digging into me and turns out I had twisted it over the years leaning left while driving....no kidding) to the wonderful feeling of being able to walk without pain in my right foot, which started this whole thing.Dr Autumn is one of those doctors you hope to find in a time of need. She's experienced in explaining the process and making me feel better when my muscles or nerves are just not happy some days. I'm lucky to have crossed paths with her over the past few years as I really don't know where I'd be otherwise. Probably still addressing the symptoms and not the cause of my pain.Big big shout out to the world class team at the front of the facility, Sarah and Amy. They've always been a huge help in working through scheduling, invoicing, and the nerve tests. They truly care about the wellbeing of everyone who walks in their doors.And if you're reading this wondering how the new doctors who have joined the facility in 2025 are, rest assured they're a wonderful addition. I've seen Dr Rebecca when I needed a little tune up in my back and she was great! Dr Sylvia has been fun to talk to and while I haven't had the chance to work with her yet, she's super smart and just another reason to check this place out.If you're on the fence about giving them a call, please know that should not be an issue. They're one of the best doctors I've been to, chiropractic or otherwise.

In September of 2022 I began experiencing serious heart issues. I had never had any issues before and was in good health otherwise. I visited cardiology specialist in Hickory, Winston, and Charlotte. Nobody had any answers to why this was happening. Over the next 2 months I began to experience other serious conditions that turned my world upside-down including extreme light-headedness, presyncope (feel like you're passing out), ringing in the ears, headaches, body aches, digestive issues, brain fog, and my sympathetic nervous system was running in overdrive. I finally got a diagnosis of dysautonomia, which is a malfunction of the autonomic nervous system. The only problem is that every doctor and specialist I saw told me that there is no treatment. Someone suggested that I visit Healthy Living Spinal Care, and I had nothing to lose so I did. After months of hopelessness, Dr. Olvera gave me hope. It didn't happen overnight but I could tell a difference after the first visit. There were times when I wondered if this was the answer, but I'm glad I stuck with it. Dr. Miles and Dr. Olvera have had to reassure me more than once. I am still under treatment, and though I am not 100% I am on my way there. I would definitely recommend Healthy Living for anyone dealing with dysautonomia or other neurological issues.

After being in a car accident, I struggled with chronic headaches, pain, numbness, and dizziness. Over the course of a year, I went to so many different doctors, had an MRI, and nobody could help. I have been to a couple of chiropractors and this is by far the best. They figured out the issue and brought relief when I honestly wasn't sure that I would be able to live pain free again. I can't thank them enough! Not only are they good at what they do, they are so kind and relational. If you are skeptical of chiropractic care, this is an office you can trust. They are very precise and accurate, using your scans and X-Rays to make sure they are improving the problem and not making it worse. I can't recommend Healthy Living Spinal Care enough!

Due to what I believe to be a 2021 flu-vaccine injury, I came to Dr. Miles & Dr. Autumn with extreme pain in my neck. This after several years of being tossed around neurological & pain specialists' who were eager to prescribe drugs and offer surgery. Meeting with Dr. Miles, referred to me by my best friend who lives with MS, was my last attempt at being able to improve my upper cervical pain before surgery. I am so glad I did! The improvement I have experienced from his upper cervical protocol has been amazing. I am now able to turn my head more freely & manage my neck pain with absolutely no over-the-counter or prescription pain & neurological drugs that left me feeling like a zombie. I can't say enough good things about Healthy Living Spinal Care doctors and office staff! They are always welcoming and friendly every time I call or visit. Dr. Miles and Dr. Olvera have helped me tremendously with chronic neck and lower back pain. They take their time to explain the process and test results from scans that they perform in house. They are very thorough during each visit and adjustment and are always willing to answer any questions I have. My daughter was told she would need surgery for TMJ, but I brought her to HLSC and they were able to help her with her jaw pain and discomfort without surgery!! After a back surgery at 18 on one herniated disc and two bulging discs, my back has not been the same. I spent almost 10 years going to a traditional chiropractor before I found Healthy Living Spinal Care. When I started my treatment I was having pain all day with every step, even just sitting or laying down was difficult and uncomfortable. After going through their suggested program of treatment, I am now pain free, and can get back to enjoying all the hobbies I have, including snowboarding, and golfing several times a week. They've helped me get past the pain and limitations of my back that I thought I would have for the rest of my life. I suggest them to everyone I know who has back pain of any kind. If I could give more stars I would! It’s been a process…the skeleton can adjust-unfortunately muscles have that pesky “memory” and take time/correction to fall in line. But when they do???
