Garrett Sr. recently oversaw the funeral of my 103 year old grandmother, Patricia Cruess, and the same location took care of my grandfather Thomas Raymond about 15 years earlier. In addition to being extremely professional and accessible, they paid attention to numerous details that made my mother so happy that she retold them to me each day for over a week after the funeral. For example, they upgraded my grandmother's casket to one with fine wood and Irish linen, played Danny Boy, provided flowers to drop on the casket, put together a photo show and made copies for the family to keep, and other touches. My grandmother would have loved all of those. In addition, I had an uncommon modern/tech request that required a bit of extra work but they were already familiar with what to do in case anyone ever asked for it, and they jumped into action. A final note that the other side of my family is Jewish, and after reading the other reviews here I think it's wonderful that Casey's goes the extra mile accommodating whatever background a family has. My mother passed away early November 2020. Eastside Memorial provided our family the help and support we needed to be able to say farewell to her in a dignified way and be safe for the family and friends. When my mother died last month, the funeral home we originally planned to use couldn't do the funeral until 4-5 days after she died. Being Jewish, having the funeral as soon as possible was important to us. Our rabbi recommended Casey's. When I called and spoke with Garrett Sr. I immediately knew they would be the right fit for us. Garrett Sr. comforted and reassured me that they could get have the funeral less than 48 hours after the death even factoring in that the body had to be transported to CT from NC. We were only having a graveside ceremony and wanted my 7 year old son to have a chance to say goodbye, but didn't want him to have to go to the cemetery. They set mom's casket up in a viewing room and allowed us to visit privately despite having another funeral going on in another room. Garrett Sr. and Jr. and their staff were fantastic to deal with before, during, and after the funeral. We appreciate their compassion, professionalism, and get it done attitude. The Casey Family and Staff were amazing . Once the Casey's were involved my worries took a back seat, everything was professional, and beautiful. It's never easy to deal with a loss of a loved one but my family & I were so grateful to work with this family owned business for the second time this year. They were so caring & patient from the beginning & helped this very painful process move quickly & accordingly. They were very attentive with informing my family of every option we had available with our budget & the communication between their staff was excellent, so we never had to over explain our wishes when we spoke to the different funeral directors at the facility. The space is beautiful & so accommodating even, for my very large family. They have state of the art sound technology in the rooms which made it so easy for us to play our own music & slideshow during the viewing hours, & everyone was seated comfortably. I recommend anyone in need of funeral services to come speak to the directors here.
