We had an old personal computer that we had stored all our photos and personal documents on before the cloud was a thing and we neglected to back them up on a separate hard drive. As older computers tend to do, this one decided to basically stop functioning and getting it to run was next to impossible. To compound that, once we did get the machine to load, since we hadn't used it in a long time and had forgotten the password to unlock it.
