It’s always a pleasure working with Duncan because, having done so for some years now, I know he understands instinctively what we need, and what our client wants. Which means I don’t have to worry about it.We know that we are not simply documenting the appearance of a building; we are trying to illustrate what it would be like to live there, in that space, and Duncan includes on all his assignments ‘lifestyle’ shots that are designed to show just that. They may be no more than a vase of flowers on a windowsill, coats hanging in a hallway, a reflection in a mirror, but all of them help to tell the story of that house. It is one we want to share with each prospective buyer.Most recently we photographed a stunning refurbishment of a property by a media professional, which required us to highlight the exquisite attention to detail, and the quality of workmanship lavished on the house throughout, including a fabulous bespoke staircase that was the focal point of the entire building. Duncan captured the beauty of that staircase, making what others might simply have recorded as a structural feature into a work of art – which is what it was. The client, of course, was delighted. We had created a record of her hard work and done justice to her imagination.Our clients invariably remark that seeing our photos reminds them why they fell in love with the house themselves, often from a perspective they had never considered before. Duncan could not have been more helpful, he was flexible with the day/time of the shoot, being mindful of the weather to ensure we had the best possible photographs. Took time to produce some lovely shots with creativity and care and when we were a little fussy about 1 or 2 images didn't hesitate to return to ensure we were 100%happy.
